There are times in life when the ways we have understood ourselves no longer seem adequate.
A relationship changes. A career ends or takes an unexpected direction. We encounter loss, aging, retirement, loneliness, or questions about purpose. Sometimes there is no single event at all—only the growing recognition that something within us has changed.
These experiences can bring anxiety, depression, grief, uncertainty, or a sense of being disconnected from the person we once knew ourselves to be. Yet they may also represent an important psychological threshold.
My approach to therapy is informed by depth psychology and an openness to the spiritual dimensions of human experience.
Depth psychology encourages us to look beneath the immediate problem and become curious about the patterns, emotions, relationships, dreams, conflicts, and experiences that have shaped our lives. Rather than asking only, “How do I make this feeling go away?” we can also begin asking, “What might this feeling be telling me?”
The spiritual dimension introduces another kind of inquiry—not necessarily religious, but concerned with meaning, purpose, values, connection, mortality, and the question of how we want to live.
Life transitions often place us in an uncomfortable middle ground.
The old life may no longer fit, while the new life has not yet become clear.
Our instinct is often to escape this uncertainty as quickly as possible. Therapy can offer something different: a place to become curious about it.
Together, we can explore what may need to be understood, grieved, relinquished, reclaimed, or developed as you move into another chapter of your life.
I do not see therapy simply as repairing what is wrong.
I see it as a conversation with your life.
Sometimes the most important question is not, “How do I get back to who I was?”
It is:
Who am I becoming?
